Privacy policy
We collect your details to run your membership and invite you to things. We do not sell them or hand them to sponsors, and you can have a copy or have them deleted whenever you ask.
What we collect
When you apply to join, sign up to the mailing list, request the handout or sign the Code of Conduct, we collect your name and email address. Depending on what you are asking for, we also collect your jurisdiction, profession, organisation, LinkedIn profile and anything else you choose to tell us.
What we use it for
- Assessing membership applications
- Running your membership and letting you know about community activity
- Inviting you to events
- Maintaining the public signatory list, where you have signed the Code of Conduct
The signatory list is public because that is the point of signing. Nothing else we hold about you is published.
Who sees it
Inside the community, only the officers. We do not sell, trade or otherwise transfer your information to third parties, and that includes our sponsors. Sponsorship does not come with access to member data. See governance and funding.
This site has no forms. Everything reaches us by email, sent from your own mail account straight to the community mailbox, so nothing you send passes through a form service or any other third party on the way. It then sits in that mailbox. We do not yet use a mailing platform, and this page will name one before we do.
Analytics and cookies
This site sets no cookies and runs no advertising or tracking scripts. There is no cookie banner because there is nothing to consent to.
Fonts are served from this site rather than a third-party CDN, so loading a page does not disclose your visit to anyone else.
How long we keep it
For as long as you are a member, or as long as needed to provide what you asked for. If you leave, we delete your information within a reasonable period unless we are required to keep it for legal reasons.
Your rights
You can ask us at any time to:
- Give you a copy of the personal information we hold about you
- Correct anything that is wrong
- Delete it
- Stop emailing you
Write to admin@osintcd.com and we will deal with it.
Changes
We may update this policy. Changes are posted here, and if a change is significant we will tell members by email.
Contact
The data controller is the Crown Dependencies OSINT Community, contactable at admin@osintcd.com. The community is run by volunteers and has no employees, so that mailbox is the route to the people responsible for your information.
Use the same address for questions about this policy, to exercise any of the rights above, or to complain about how your information has been handled.
